He's been around in the music industry since the early '80's, but music has been part of his life since birth. Currently working as a solo artist, Kent is also a member of the hard hitting band Morta.Currently signed to eleven29 Records, Kent has been in several bands over the years including the wildly popular South East Regional Band Full Flavor back in the early '80's and more recently Mary's Malice.


Kent is a gifted musican and plays several instruments including guitars, bass, and most keyboard instruments. His favorite instruments include his Johnson and Ibanez electrics (2) and acustics (3), an Ovation and his Fender bass, Yamaha Keyboards (2) and an old, old Fender Rhodes electric piano.


One thing that can always be said about Kent is that he has always defied convention. From his early days of subverting authority in elementery school to his foundation of the NUCU, he has always look for ways to thumb his nose at the 'norm'. When everyone else wore their hair long, his was short and vise versa. When guys were only piercing their left ears, Kent (who is straight and married for many, many years) pierced both...multiple times, thus defying the sexual orientation stygma associated with such action. When tattoos were something to be hidden and kept secret, he began his annual tattoo ritual (he now has more than 43) and proudly displays the results to the world.




Being a strong supporter of our troops, but a staunch opposer of the War in Iraq, Kent drew an enormous amount of criticism in Mid 2007. While at a Support Our Troops ralley, as a guest of Mary's Malice, he made his now famous, of infamous, statement when quoting a line from one of his songs. It seemed rather innocent at the time, and today does not appear to be something that should have caused such a stir. Kent said, quoting from the song God of War,

"For when all the great warriors have been sacrificed to the God of War, then the God himself must continue the fight, or the war must end...
So Dubyah, get your fucking guns, 'cause we're through fighting..."

He was termed as unpatriotic by some, patriotic by others, but most just didn't give a damn one way or the other because it was one hell of a show!
